Mad Max

ABOUT THE END OF THE WORLD (AND US IN IT) 🚀🔥

In 2016, Mad Max: Fury Road had just set fire to the Oscars, and directors Jac & Johan decided to go deeper, tracing the franchise’s influence from its birth to its latest, most explosive chapter.

But this wasn’t just a documentary—it was a mirror to humanity’s self-destruction and rebirth, told through the voices of Noam Chomsky, Guillermo del Toro, Hideo Kojima, Mamoru Oshii, Pacôme Thiellement, and George Miller himself.

To capture the raw, kinetic energy of Mad Max, our animation studio, Fauns, co-produced and crafted original animated sequences, fusing the bold art direction of Rockyrama with our own relentless, high-intensity visuals.

Led by Daniel Balage, 🌟 we worked with Thibault Petitpas & Guillaume Dousse (future founders of Sun Creature Studio), while I handled all the storyboards, and the backgrounds were brought to life by César Chevalier and a dream team of artists.

The challenge?

One month. 🫨

That’s how long we had to animate, refine, and deliver everything under the rock-solid production management of Flore Poinsard, now leading at Folimage. Somehow, we survived.

And we learned that when you trust artists, give them space to create, and embrace the chaos—you get something bigger than just a project.

Premiering in May 2016 on Canal+ Cinéma, split into Destruction & Civilization, the documentary brought Mad Max’s dystopian vision to life like never before—with a killer soundtrack by 2080 still echoing in our heads.

Brutal. Exhausting. And completely worth it. 🙆

🔥 As Producer of Animated Sequences, I designed and storyboarded all custom 2D animation, collaborating with directors & artists to match the raw energy of the Mad Max universe.
