Phoebus

The Time-Bending, Star-Gazing, Mind-Stretching Immersive Experience ⏳🌌

What if time wasn’t what you thought it was? What if you could break it, rebuild it, reshape it?

Welcome to PHOEBUS, an interactive mixed-reality experience where clockwork meets the cosmos, where you craft your own sense of time as if you were an 18th-century horologist discovering the mysteries of the universe…

In your living room.

Yeah, we’re going there.

This three-hour immersive adventure is inspired by the extraordinary Séraphin Cart-Grandjean, a self-taught genius from the Jura Mountains who, with nothing but sheer curiosity and craftsmanship, built one of the most complex Comtoise astronomical clocks of all time.

No formal training, no blueprints—just vision, patience, and a whole lot of gears.

He cracked the rhythm of the stars and the moon, integrating astronomical cycles, lunar phases, and mechanical precision into one brilliant timepiece.

⏱️ PHOEBUS is not a documentary, not a game, not an educational app—it’s a living ecosystem where you, too, bend time to your will.

Tick-Tock, Your Turn to Play with Time 🕰️

Imagine this: your home transforms into the Jura countryside. In your space, floating above your furniture, are scattered fragments of a mysterious 🌙 astronomical clock.

They hover, waiting for you to piece them together. The distant toll of a bell echoes, and suddenly, you can modify its rhythm—faster, slower, harmonic, distorted.

✨ With every tweak of sound, your clockwork world shifts, altering the stars, the moon cycles, even the night itself. The more you experiment, the more control you gain over your own passage of time.

What if your days lasted six hours?

Or 48?

What if you could pause the night, stretch a moment, or speed up the dawn?

PHOEBUS lets you find your own rhythm in a world that never stops ticking.

🤯 Let’s be real—modern time is a tyranny.

The relentless march of minutes and hours dictates our every move, from alarm clocks to calendar notifications. But in PHOEBUS, time is no longer a cage—it’s your playground.

🕰️ We’re reinventing time through sound, physics, and interactive design, letting you reclaim the lost art of measuring time on your own terms.

Using hand-tracking and spatial computing, 🔭 you’ll interact with the elements of a fractured timepiece, learning not through text or tutorial, but through experimentation—turning, assembling, and rearranging mechanisms that directly alter your environment.

🌠 PHOEBUS is about presence. It’s about slowing down and seeing the world differently.

Inspired by the silent rhythms of the cosmos, the precise craftsmanship of mechanical horology, and the organic logic of nature, this project is a meditative yet exhilarating trip into the fabric of reality itself. And make no mistake—this isn’t just for history nerds.

Whether you’re a casual player, a creative tinkerer, or someone who just loves the romance of lost arts, PHOEBUS offers a visceral, hands-on, mind-expanding experience. 🛠️

Designed for Everyone, Everywhere

You don’t need a high-tech setup or a vast empty space to enjoy PHOEBUS.

It’s built for autonomous headsets (think Meta Quest, HTC Elite, Apple Vision Pro), but can also work in dedicated installations in museums or cultural spaces. The experience is both solo and multi-user, meaning you can either reshape time on your own or collaborate with others to build something greater.

Whether you’re alone in your apartment or part of an interactive exhibit, the world of PHOEBUS grows and evolves with your choices.

Our Goal: A New Philosophy of Time 🌀🔬

We’re not just making a beautiful mixed-reality experiment—we’re creating new ways to think about time.

🕗 Time is not just numbers on a clock—it’s movement, change, succession, and decay. PHOEBUS invites you to reimagine your personal relationship with time—to experiment with it, to feel it.

In a world obsessed with speed and productivity, this project is an invitation to pause, observe, and interact with time in a way that is deeply personal and profoundly poetic. 🪶

⏳ In PHOEBUS, you don’t just pass through time—you build it, reshape it, and challenge its very structure.

So go ahead: tinker, twist, and transcend the clockwork reality you thought you knew.

After all, who says time has to move forward? 🤲
