Glimpse

Once upon a time, I crossed paths with two of the wildest Irish geniuses I’ve ever met – Mike and Ben. πŸ€ Workaholic, passionate, and incredibly talented, these guys were destined for greatness. πŸš€

Mike, the loveliest person 🫢🏼 I’ve worked with in ages, brought joy and energy to the project daily. Even amidst a sea of bugs and stress, his presence πŸ”₯ was a game-changer.

With a background in the video game industry, his trust in us was crucial to the success of Glimpse.

Ben, an Oscar winner πŸ† for his short film “Stutterer,” was no stranger to accolades. Sweet, sharp, generousβ€”Ben gave everything to the team and the project. 🧠

And their latest project, Glimpse, was bound to be something extraordinary.

Greatness. I told you. πŸ’•

(This is my website; I write declarations of love to whomever I please)

The story they crafted was deceptively simple yet emotionally resonant, exploring the aftermath of a πŸ’” break-up.

It begged the question: does it have to be all doom and gloom?

Intrigued and enamored with the duo and their vision, I fought tooth and nail to make it a reality, stepping in as Executive Producer to ensure the best possible outcome. πŸ’…πŸΌ

Our connection was electric, sparking ⚑ a creative frenzy that knew no bounds.

The sheer volume of ideas we generated was overwhelming, and the only downside was not being able to bring them all to life. But as they say, teamwork makes the dream work. 🀝🏼

Navigating a changing studio landscape, language barriers, and technological hurdles, our crew persevered.

Thanks to the support of Lee Harris at Electric Skies, Corentin Lambot at Albyon, and Allison Crank’s UX and management expertise, we managed to create a truly remarkable immersive experience. ✊🏼

Selected for the Venice Biennale in 2021, Glimpse went on to win awards at Raindance and πŸ§€ Annecy, where it clinched the prestigious πŸ’Ž Crystal.

A testament to our hard work and dedication, these victories ✌🏼 were undoubtedly worth celebrating.

The project was brought to life by the talents of Taron 🐼 Egerton and Lucy 🎸 Boynton, who voiced the lead characters Herbie and Rice.

Together, their performances created a vivid and engaging world, pulling audiences into the emotional journey of a heartbroken panda. ❀️‍πŸ”₯

Glimpse is a visual masterpiece, a journey through the mind and heart of Herbie, our lovelorn protagonist.

Through his illustrations, we relive the memories of his relationship with Rice, from its beautiful beginning to its heart-wrenching end.

The animation and VFX, powered by Unreal Engine, create an immersive and emotional experience like no other. It’s a story that resonates with audiences, a πŸ“ testament to the power of creativity and collaboration.

Taron Egerton, who captured hearts as Elton John in Rocketman, 🎀 lent his voice to Herbie, infusing the character with vulnerability and depth.

Meanwhile, Lucy Boynton, a breakout star known for her work in The Politician and Sing Street, brought Rice to life with equal parts charm and poignancy. 🚐

In the end, Glimpse stands as a shining example of what can be achieved when talented 🀯 artists come together to tell a compelling story. It’s a testament to the power of passion, creativity, and perseverance – and a project that will forever hold a special place in my heart.

I served as Executive Producer, assembling a top-tier animation & development team to bring this heartfelt VR breakup story to life, while navigating technical challenges, creative vision, and production milestones.
